U-MYX (www.u-myx.com) is a unique interactive music format that lets people create their own mixes of major artists songs, then share them with their friends and others. Think 'Guitar Hero' for remixing. It is based in London but operates world-wide.

U-MYX is looking for a mid level java developer to develop a scalable and robust back-end for a flash+ web of U-MYX.

Pre-requisite Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Good design skills
  • Autonomous - capable of working with little supervision
  • A solid knowledge of Java and Unix
  • A degree in Computer Science
  • Good knowledge of computer security
  • At least five years professional programming experience (in whatever language, OS and environment)
  • Knowledge of SQL, Amazon EC2, S3, SQS, Tomcat and Java Servlets as a plus but not essential
  • Speak fluent English

    U-MYX is a company on the move, currently undergoing a complete rebrand, rebuild of product and website, and expanding its team to capitalise on the 3 years of success and growth it had amongst record labels, recording artists, social networks and most importantly, music fans.

    To support this expansion, we're looking for a Marketing Manager to handle the delivery and co-ordination of the marketing program to drive adoption and retention of U-MYX users. This person is expected to grow within the role and also gain responsibility over U-MYX brand, collecting customer insight, driving evolution of the product, SEO/PPC/CPA development, widget distribution and more.

    Key responsibilities

  • Assist with development of overall marketing plan for U-MYX
  • Manage design and layout of communications materials including website, email, CDs
  • Prepare & edit copy for use in marketing materials, email, website, etc.
  • Create and co-ordinate online and offline acquisition & retention programs (including online advertising, SEO, paid search, social network, blog, affiliate network, email…)
  • Create and co-ordinate partner activities including promotional campaigns and creative development (including globally-known record labels, social network, ad firms etc)
  • Provide market insights and analysis of key markets
  • Monitor and report marketing performance and user activity
  • Support company's understanding of U-MYX users and optimize customer support

    • Pre-requisite knowledge, skills and experience

  • Marketing experience (2 years min)
  • Committed, enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Skilled in Photoshop
  • Very good understanding of the internet (html knowledge is a plus)
  • Fluent in English
  • Good project management skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, autonomous
  • Passionate about music
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
  • Enjoy working as part of a fun team
